Sunset Reef is a wonderful bayside venue for your special event. The sunsets can be amazing over the bay. We began offering our home and property for weddings after our daughter's wedding there in March of 2014. Both our wedding planner and our caterer spoke to us about our great bayside, sunset venue. Since then Sunset Reef has hosted many weddings. Most of the Islamorada private properties that allow weddings and events book Saturday to Saturday or Friday to Friday. That is difficult for a nice Saturday wedding or other event. We book any 7 consecutive days. So most of our wedding bookings are Wednesday to Wednesday or Thursday to Thursday.
The other Islamorada private home wedding venues are on the Atlantic side of Islamorada with the shallow ocean bottom, the prevailing southeast wind and the stinky seaweed washing up on the shore..
You will need hotel room blocks. We can recommend the Islander Resort and other local hotels for your guest's hotel stay for your wedding. Just ask us for the details.
Event fee: $1,250 for guests and wedding party totaling less than 30. $1,500 for guest and wedding party totaling over 30. Includes dumpster for trash.
Our property and home are available for special events and bayside weddings with an additional event fee. The event fee does include the dumpster that we bring onsite to handle all of trash generated by your events.
We do insist on local vendors. The wedding vendors from Miami or Fort Lauderdale are not recommended for Keys weddings or events. We can recommend local wedding planners, caterers, lighting specialists, florists and other vendors for an event at our spectacular bayside, sunset venue.
Weddings and receptions for over 30 people, guests and wedding party included, requires a portable toilet trailer facility. The toilet trailers are very nice and provide a cool, clean, easily accessible ground floor facility for all of your guests. You can supply with your lotions and potpourri. We can recommend the least expensive vendors.
Usually the bride and groom are the primary people staying in our home. One or both of the parents must be staying in our home for the duration of the rental. Additional siblings are welcome or a few wedding party members. For anything other than that please speak to us. Based upon past experience, wedding party guests only are not allowed.

Do you rent daily? No, the minimum number of days rental is 7 unless there is a less than 7 day hole in our rental calendar that would accommodate your dates. Email us and we will talk. Please visit www.vrbo.com/809744 for an up-to-date availability calendar.
Do you only rent Saturday to Saturday? No, we rent any 7 or more consecutive days.
Are children welcomed? Yes. We can provide a crib with linens, high chair, and a pack-n-play if asked along with children's pool and beach toys.
Does docking my boat have a cost? You can use the dock for free. The platform boat lift costs $100 per week for boat usage.
Do you rent your boats? No, our insurance will not allow us to rent our motorized watercraft.
Do you allow weddings or events? Yes, Sunset Reef is available for weddings and events for an additional fee.
Do you allow pets? Yes, pets are allowed with a $100 per pet per week fee.
Can I park my boat trailer on the property? Yes, we have a trailer parking area inside the gates.
Are there pool towels? Yes, we supply very nice pool towels for the number of guests. There are also older towels for bathing your pet. There is a supply of rags for spills, etc.
What is supplied with the house? We supply "starter" paper towels, toilet paper and tissues. There are shampoo, conditioner, body wash and bar soap in the bathrooms. Every bathroom has a hair dryer. The kitchen and refrigerator have dish soap,
